Paws for the Cause - Davis Island

This past Saturday I photographed the Relay for Life - Paws for the Cause on Davis Island in Tampa. There were several 'fur kid' friendly vendors, the Humane Society was there with some adorable adoptables and then the dog show. It was $10 to register your dog, in one of the many categories there were to choose from, and those monies went to the American Cancer Society. Here's a look at the day!

Volunteer Karen with adoptable Chihuahua/Pug mix, Jazzie!

This is Leo, Italian Greyhound, and his human Chris Mercer, founder of Flush Puppies the biodegradable dog doodie bags. Leo is a Canine Cancer Survivor, first diagnosed 5 years ago. Chris calls him his "$10,000 free dog". It's now been a year and half since the last incident!

Charlie, she's a Whippet. She and human Greg won 'Best Couple'!
This is the adorable little 'Pixie'! She won 'Best Kisser' and then went on to take home 'Best in Show'!!!
Here come the English Bulldogs. These squshy faces are always fun to photograph. This is Matilda Grace and...
... this is Georgia! Big Smile!
This happy little fella is Oliver, a Maltese/ Westie (West Highland White Terrier)
Next up is Gizmo, the Brussel Griffon/Boarder Terrier mix!
And then we have the pure breed Brussel Griffon, Monkey. He spent the day helping out his human, Chris, who was a vendor at the event with Canidae , an all natural dog food which Monkey has been on his entire life. That's one healthly little guy!
I so loved this adorable adoptable, Journey! She's a 4 year old American Eskimo mix and she so loved to have her chin scratched. She would practically drool in your hand!! So sweet!
Check out these eyes on Gromit, an Aussie/Husky mix.
Believe it or not, this Old English Sheepdog named Daisy, is only 7 months old.
Jennifer Fadal of "wag" Pet Boutique of Tampa was busy giving out treats to the eager participants. Seen here with CJ a blue nose Pit Bull Terrier and human Candace.
Unfortunately, I didn't get this 'fur kids' name, but I just could not pass up this expression. Looks like he or she is either praying or soaking up the sun. I just had to post it!!

Thanks to everyone who came out in support of the American Cancer Society!! It was a truly beautiful day to be out with the 'fur kids'!!
